How Much Does a Doll Really Cost? Bands, Drivers and Traps
The headline price is the least honest number on the page. Photos show paid options, 'free' bundles rotate monthly, struck-through 'MSRPs' do not represent a real market price, and the same doll can differ by over $1,000 between retailers. This guide separates bands, drivers and traps — all figures are dated listings or labelled estimated bands, not current live pricing.
Bands (orientation, estimated unless stated)
Our sources describe torso/mini products around $100–$500, entry genuine-brand full-size dolls around $1,800–$2,500, and a sweet spot around $2,500–$4,000. Prices we saw anchor the range: Starpery Jisu at $1,989 and Irontech Yeona at $2,500 (13 Oct 2026). RealDoll's current price was not checked, so we do not use an old published figure as an anchor. A full-size doll advertised far below the genuine band — especially under $400–$500 — matches the documented counterfeit pattern, not a bargain. See How to recognize suspicious listings.
What drives price
Material (silicone typically ~1.5–3× a TPE equivalent, retailer table reported), size, skeleton/finger systems, finish (body painting, implanted hair at +€427–471 in one itemized option table), technology, and brand/retailer route. Option stacking at the configurator can add hundreds before checkout ends.
Worked example (estimate)
Take a $2,300 in-stock silicone doll — between the two observed prices above. Our Total cost of ownership guide prices the full first-year basket line by line: storage, care supplies, lubricant, clothing that fits and a repair contingency. The result is roughly $2,620–$3,230 before any import duty, or up to about $3,530 if you pay duty yourself (all estimates). Run your own figures in the True Cost Calculator and read Total cost of ownership.
Traps to check before paying
- Is the photographed configuration the priced configuration?
- Which 'free' features expire with this month's promo?
- Is shipping duties-paid (DDP) or are you the importer?
- In-stock or made-to-order — and what does that do to returns? See Custom vs ready-made.
