Repairs and Replacement Parts: Triage Before DIY

Repair questions come up less often than buying questions, but the triage order below prevents expensive mistakes.

Rule one: claim check before repair

Troubleshooting must link first to warranty reality, then to repair. Damage-report windows can be 24–48 hours, remedies are often a parts kit rather than replacement, and attempting a DIY repair first can end a claim discussion. Photograph the damage, keep packaging, do not use the product, and contact the seller within the window — see How to inspect a delivered product and Manufacturer warranty comparison.

Triage

ProblemLikely pathEvidence note
Wire-finger poke-through / snapped fingersParts/hand replacement or claim if earlyMost-named specific defect; brand failure rates unknown — no denominator exists
Small TPE tear/cutSeller repair kit is the industry's default remedyDIY glue/solvent steps in forums are unverified — this guide does not republish step protocols as instructions
Silicone damageMethod-dependent: one matrix calls silicone 'not repairable', a repair forum discusses weldingNot settled — get manufacturer guidance for your material
Loose joints, cosmetic issues (nails, lashes, makeup mismatch)Often explicitly excluded from warranty as wear/cosmeticSet expectations accordingly
Body-paint wearCosmetic reality, not a defect claim in most termsPaint can wear in days under friction-heavy use per retailer care text (reported)

Replacement parts — what is evidenced

Heads are the clearest parts market: standalone silicone heads observed at $352 in US stock for one brand, extra heads at +€439 in an EU option table. Insert replacement costs over five years are mostly unknown — inserts are rarely priced publicly. Before buying any model, ask the seller for its parts list and prices; a maker with itemized parts (see the genuine-manufacturer signals in How to compare quality) is a safer long-term bet than one without.

Honest limit

No verified, step-tested repair protocol exists in our sources — repair knowledge lives in old forum threads and seller kits. This page will stay a triage guide until a protocol can be evidenced, rather than dressing forum advice up as expertise.

How this guide was written

From the seller and manufacturer listings behind our catalog records, retailer policy pages and owner accounts we reviewed, checked 13 Oct 2026. Where a fact could not be checked, the guide says so rather than filling the gap. See our methodology, editorial policy and who we are. Spotted an error? Tell us.
